SITE PREP
Grading – Harley Rake – Soil Amendments
One of the most critical steps during a sod installation project occurs well before the new grass is installed. Our skilled technicians use cultivators, graders, and even Harley Rakes to simultaneously pulverize dirt clods and old grass while separating rocks and roots debris. Removing potential impediments to root growth is essential for a thick and healthy root system.
Once the sodding area is properly prepared, TruePoint installers perform a final grade to your jobsite and add amendments where necessary – including lime or additional top soil.
If a sod installer doesn’t offer this service, you don’t want them!
IRRIGATION SYSTEMS
In addition to proper cutting and fertilization practices, an irrigation system is one of the best tools to ensure a vigorous and healthy sod installation project. Keeping your new turf properly watered makes a tremendous difference in sod survivability.
If a newly sodded yard is not properly watered, it doesn’t matter how healthy your turf was at install. TruePoint can install both complex and simple irrigation system installations. Contact a representative for a free, no-obligation estimate.
HYDROSEEDING
Using high pressure hoses, a slurry or grass seed and mulch is sprayed over prepared ground and results in a much faster germination and intital growth rate.
If planting a relatively large area, hydroseeding can be completed in a very short period of time. It can be very effective for hillsides and sloping lawns aiding with erosion control and faster planting. Hydroseeding typically costs less than total sod installations.
